Art Account (Instagram)

I decided to divide my personal instagram and my art profile. So, I kept the one I already had as my personal one, and created an art account @petrova.illustrations  where I would only post art content- finished scanned illustrations, work in progresses and other. I would keep it up to date, posting as much as possible, just as my facebook art page. I feel like right now Instagram is a really good place for illustrators and I would try to get involved in the community.

House of Illustration

With my uni- group, we made a visit to London and visited the House of Illustration and the Cartoon museum. I am not sure why I did not take many pictures in the Cartoon museum, I feel like we must not be allowed to, since I am always the one to take loads of photos. I managed to sneak photograph this lovely image of Van Gogh's room! Mischievous...

I quite liked the House of Illustration, we saw not only their normal exhibitions, but also a contest one where a lot of artists had to illustrate the same book. I really enjoyed seeing different art styles and interpretations!

Winsor&Newton inks, limited colour palette test

I've got some new liquid inks from Winsor&Newton, and I couldn't wait to try them out! They are very bright, and I am very happy with the quality.

I was inspired to try out limited colour palette after reading Soppy by Philippa Rice!

I felt like it is impossible not to look at her art...

I made a little watercolour self-portrait that I am now using for my CV and my social media & portfolio profile image! I feel more comfortable using a cartoon image rather a photograph for my work- related media, since it is also a way to demonstrate a little piece of my work.
